Rankings

We tally performance records to make popularity visible. Anyone can view them.

View them across 6 types × 3 periods.

  • Types: Songs / Artists / Users / Attendance / Venues / Hosts
  • Periods: All time / This year / This month

The host ranking counts how many sessions that person has hosted. A session counts as one at the moment it becomes "Finished", so drafts and canceled sessions never count. Hosts who only entered a name on the spot (instant sessions) aren't tallied. The song, artist, and user rankings are counted when a performance becomes "Played". The attendance ranking counts how many sessions a person has attended. Like the host ranking, it is counted at the moment a session becomes "Finished", adding one for each participant whose entry was confirmed (waitlisted and withdrawn people are not counted). Name-only "on the spot" participants are not included, and instant sessions cannot be counted at all because they keep no application records.

Rankings are updated daily around 04:00 (Japan time). The day's performances are reflected in the next day's update. Each list shows the top 50, and before anything has been tallied it reads "No results yet. Rankings update every day."

The user ranking covers registered users only. "On the spot" participants, who can change their name, aren't included in the tally. If you register later, your past participation is reflected too.
Blocking is not reflected in the rankings. A blocked person's name still appears in the rankings as is. Hiding in comments is in effect.
The practice session ("【練習】セッション 第〇回") is not counted in any of the 6 types. That is why a song you played in practice does not show up in the rankings (for details, see About "【練習】セッション 第〇回").

Notifications

Important updates are delivered to you (registered users and up). When there are unread ones, a badge appears on the menu.

There are six kinds of notification.

  • A spot opens up (first-come alert) — the one you least want to miss
  • Session cancellation
  • Session detail changes — when the date/time, venue, or fee changes
  • Recruitment opens (for a session you saved)
  • Pre-event reminder (the evening before)
  • Comment replies

Notification text arrives in the display language you've chosen (Japanese or English). It takes effect from the moment you switch languages, and anyone who has never switched receives Japanese (switch once and it's English from then on). Note that the session date and time in a notification is always Japan time, whatever the language.

💡You can turn the six kinds on/off individually from Menu → "Notifications" (the screen is titled "Notification settings"). Turn off just the ones you find noisy, and the important "A spot opens up (first-come alert)" notification keeps coming.

Delivering notifications to your device (push notifications)

To receive notifications even when the app isn't open, allow delivery on each device you use. Turn on "Receive notifications on this device" at the very top of the notification settings. Your browser will ask for permission, so choose "Allow".

  • It's a per-device setting. To receive on both your phone and PC, turn it on for each.
  • It's a separate setting from the six kinds above (what to send). This one decides "whether this device may receive them".
  • If you turn it off, push notifications stop reaching that device. They still arrive in the in-app notification list.
Microsoft Edge doesn't show the permission dialog with its default settings ("Quiet notification requests" is on by default). If you can't turn it on, click the bell icon in the address bar and choose "Allow", or change the setting at edge://settings/content/notifications, then reload the page and try again. You can also check the same steps from the app's "Details" button.
Push notifications aren't available in Incognito / InPrivate windows.
If you're using the Android app, the browser notes above don't apply. Turning notifications on brings up the system permission dialog. If you chose "Don't allow" and want to change it later, go to Settings → Apps → Session Concierge → Notifications on your device.

Comments

A message board for each session. Useful for planning beforehand and for chatting on the day (posting requires registered users and up).

  • Send: Enter to send, Shift + Enter for a line break. The input box grows up to 5 lines.
  • Reply: Each comment has a reply icon (hover over it, or press and hold, and it reads "Reply") for writing a reply to that comment. "Replying to …" appears above the input box, with an × (Cancel reply) to back out. Replies are not nested or indented; they simply carry a "> Reply to …" line above the body (if the original was deleted it reads "> Reply to a deleted comment", and for someone you've blocked, "> Reply to a hidden comment"). Replying sends the other person a notification ("Comment replies"); replying to yourself sends nothing.
  • Edit: You can edit your own posts as many times as you like. An edited post is marked "Edited".
  • Delete: Your own posts, the host, and admins can delete. A deleted post leaves "This comment was deleted" (it can't be restored).
  • Unread: The comment tab shows the count and unread number, like "Comments 10(2)". Opening the tab marks them read.

Reporting

If you come across abusive behavior, you can report it. Choose "Report" from the "⋮" menu at the top right of the session details or the "⋮" menu on each comment.

  • Pick a reason from five options, listed in this order: Inappropriate content / Spam or advertising / Impersonation / Harassment / Other. Picking one sends the report right away and shows "Your report has been received."
  • Reports are reviewed by the operators, who respond as needed.
